I just received this email today from a good friend and Raku mentor. Hell, he wrote the Text book! Dig Deep and give Grizzly Charity to assist other families that are facing this devastating challenge that this disease threatens everything they hold dear. The Branfman family rides in remembrance and defiance against this tragic disease that took their son and a very talented Raku artist way to young. The link to donate is in the email below. If your in the area, go out and lend your support! Shake the Branfman’s family hand and tell them Grizzly from The Clay Empire sent you!

Dear friends and family,
In 5 days the culmination of a year of planning, preparation, and anticipation will come to fruition. In 5 days Ellen, Adam, me, and a group of friends and family as Team Kermit will once again mount our bikes and take to the road, all working to find a cure for cancer. We will be out on there with thousands of other people; young and old, women and men, tall and short, skinny and robust, seasoned athletes and weekend warriors. There will be teachers, policemen, professional athletes, artists, truck drivers, and doctors. Our cycling clothes will disguise lawyers, electricians, plumbers, writers, and carpenters. People will be coming from most every state and from around the world. Some will be climbing the steepest hills effortlessly while others will be grunting, moaning, and barely staying upright as they push themselves to their physical limit. It is 190 miles of challenging terrain meant to symbolize the painful treatments that patients endure and the hardship that families share. Completing the 190 miles represents the joy and feeling of victory when one surmounts a difficult task and the sadness, despair, and surrender when the finish is tragic. We have experienced both.
My tears are already beginning to swell as I think about what we are about to do and where we are about to go. This is not some small feat. This is not just another bike ride for charity. It is a life altering event. Yes, those that participate by riding, volunteering, or donating will be changed, but not nearly as much as the lives of others that we are about to affect. That is why we do it. For the children.
Many of you have already made your gift to the PMC and we thank you so much for that. You are making a difference. If you haven’t yet made your gift please find it in your hearts to contribute what you can to our efforts. Make a donation online at http://www.pmc.org/profile/SB0159 or send us a check made out the PMC/Jimmy Fund.
Thank you so much for your support. Thank you so much for your friendship. And thank you so much for always remembering our son, brother, and friend Jared.
