@TinaGsx1400 uploaded her video “Metal detecting Garrett Ace 250 WW2 Fuze Tail???” on Jan 15, 2012 www.youtube.com I commented on the lovely ceramic shards she found and she sent them to me! What a treasure! After getting the shards I was elated to find they were actually Tile! Being a Raku Clay Tile & Mosaic artist, I had to look them up and see what they were exactly! I found they were manufactured in 1905 by T & R Boote. A lovely example of British Art Nouveau Majolica Tile. This tile would of been in an iron fireplace, wash stand, or a piece of furniture with inherent frames. These tiles are highly collected today and quite valuable with the example I found online going for 73 pounds or $102 for one 6×6 inch tile! Information on these tile fragments found here on this great resource site! www.tile-heaven.co.uk Always pay attention to the ceramic shards you find as they can help you date your site you are hunting and finds you are finding! They are also quite valuable even in shard form, let alone finding them intact! I suggest that Tina should go back and dig a bit deeper and try to find one intact! It would be worth her effort!
